Mission

City Wide Services preserves and enhances the environment quality of life in Chattanooga through prompt, cost effective and courteous delivery of services designed to safeguard the health safety and welfare of its citizens and to maintain and improve the city's infrastructure. 

 

Services 

The division of Public Works provides curbside solid waste collection services for garbage, bulky items, recycling and yard waste. This division is also responsible for street maintenance and construction, right-of-way and alley maintenance, urban forestry, and storm sewer construction and maintenance. There are also a  number of facilities which are operated throughout the city as convenient locations for disposing of trash and recyclables. Five recycling convenience centers, three refuse collection centers, and the wood, compost, mulch and household hazardous waste facility are free to City of Chattanooga residents.
