03-23-17 MDA Ambassador Kicks Off Firefighter Fundraising Drive for MDA

For the next three days (March 23-25, 2017) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., more than 370 firefighters will fan out across the city with boots in hand to collect donations for MDA. Last year the Chattanooga Fire Department finished second in the state by raising $80,507. This year's goal is to raise $100,000 for MDA. The funds raised support research to find urgently needed treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that severely limit strength and mobility. The funds also support the MDA Care Center at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN, and they help send local kids to MDA summer camp at no cost to their families. The Chattanooga Fire Fighters Association, Local 820 is also a key sponsor of this fundraising drive.
