08-29-2012 Firefighters Save House, But Pet Dog Dies
Battalion Chief Chuck McMillian said the firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a bedroom. The rest of the house sustained serious smoke and heat damage. An estimate on the dollar loss was not available.
The residents got out of the home safely, but one of two pet dogs did not make it. Volunteers with the American Red Cross were called in to provide assistance to the victims. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Chattanooga police and Hamilton County EMS provided valuable assistance on the scene.
