About Us
The Chattanooga Head Start and Early Head Start programs have been promoting school readiness for Hamilton County’s children ages birth to five years since 1965. We believe the best way to prepare our children is to support the development of the whole child and give parents the resources they need to achieve their goals.
The Office of Head Start is an early learning program serving low income children ages 8 weeks- to 5 years in a center-based setting. across Chattanooga and Hamilton County with some centers operating in collaboration with Hamilton County Schools and local childcare centers. Chattanooga Head Start reserved 10% of its slots for children with special needs.
Our classrooms provide a positive learning environment and our credentialed teachers use research-based curricula to create developmental goals that are specifically tailored to each child.
