Our Mission

The Division of Community Engagement for the City of Chattanooga collaborates across departments to embed equity in policies and practices through data-driven strategies and transparent accountability. As the liaison between internal partners, faith leaders, nonprofits, foundations, mayor's councils, industry partners, and the community, we empower residents to actively participate in creating a more inclusive and equitable Chattanooga.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Diversity and Inclusion: Develop and implement strategies to foster an inclusive environment that values individual differences

  • Collaborate and Operationalize DEI Strategy: Work with teams to embed DEI principles in workplace practices and policies

  • Create an Accountability Culture: Establish benchmarks and metrics to track, evaluate, and report on DEI progress

  • Cultivate and Manage External Partnerships: Develop measurable goals for partnerships and manage external relationships

  • Drive DEI Training and Events: Organize and conduct DEI-focused training programs and events

  • Innovate and Scale Programs: Use data and feedback to innovate and expand DEI programs
