How To Drive a Roundabout
In 2001, Chattanooga Traffic Engineering introduced to Chattanooga residents a new concept in intersection traffic control with the building of a roundabout at the intersection of Westside Drive at 29th Street on the west end of Bachman Tunnel on the side of Missionary Ridge.
The modern roundabout design is a relatively new design concept in the U.S., with the first modern roundabout being built in 1990 in Nevada. Since then, many other states have adopted this design strategy.
