Urban Forestry

Our Mission

Our City code-defined mission is to protect, maintain, and grow the public resources of the urban forest. We work daily both to minimize risks and to ensure that the benefits provided by trees are experienced by all Chattanoogans.

The Urban Forestry Program is made up of 13 positions dedicated to tree protection, maintenance and planning.

Leadership

The Chattanooga Tree Commission is an official advisory board of nine members who provide policy recommendations, hear appeals, and promote urban tree preservation. Current members of the Chattanooga Tree Commission:
