Responsibilities
The Bureau is responsible for:
Administering and enforcing local air pollution control rules and regulations
Monitoring the air quality in Hamilton County, Tennessee, to ensure that its residents are living in a healthy environment
Issuing industrial air pollution permits, asbestos permits, burn permits
Educating the public on air pollution and the effects it can have on human health
