The Special Operations Division works closely with the CFD Operations and Training Divisions, as well as other departments and agencies to coordinate special operations for the fire department.

- Ensure operational readiness of equipment and personnel
- Provide annual training opportunities in all special operations fields to maintain and enhance the skills of responders
- Ensure public and responder safety through careful planning of special events
