What Are The Requirements?
Burning permits are issued to individuals or businesses that are planning to burn less than two acres of brush in a burn season. Burning is limited to clean, raw, untreated, non-manufactured wood or natural vegetation.

Visit apcb.org/burning-permits and select the appropriate burn permit for your needs.

| County Burn Permit Burning in Lakesite, Lookout Mountain, Signal Mountain, Soddy Daisy, Walden, or unincorporated Hamilton County. | $10 |
| City Burn Permit Burning within the city limits of Chattanooga, Collegedale, East Ridge, Red Bank, or Ridgeside. An inspection is required before a permit will be issued. | $60 |
| Controlled Burn Permit For individuals or businesses planning to burn more than two acres of material. An inspection is required. | $500 |
| Burn Permit Application for Credit Card Payments A 2.35% (minimum $1.49) service fee will be added to the permit fee. | |
