Process Details

Approval Process / Evaluation

Once the Applicant submits for their permit they will get an email. When it gets to our licensing clerks they will look it over for the fees. When the fees are paid then the permit will be issued and the applicant will get an email to let them know. They will also get emails every time there is an inspection passed or failed.

  • If the meter inspection is REJECTED for repairs, then a properly licensed electrical contractor will need to obtain a separate electrical permit before commencing the work and call for inspection after repairs have been completed.
  • If the meter inspection is APPROVED, the electrical inspector will leave a sticker on that meter. It is the responsibility of the applicant to contact the Electric Power Board at (423) 648-1372 to request the power to be turned on.
