The Training Division is responsible for the education and training of recruits to experienced personnel in emergency response. Known for its diversity within Tennessee, the division boasts instructors proficient in multiple disciplines, leading crucial components such as emergency medical care, fire suppression, fire apparatus operations, fire department instruction, urban search & rescue, vehicle extrication and fire company officer development training.
Training Division prepares members for the following state certifications and/or licensure:
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Hazardous Materials (Awareness / Operations / Technician)
- Firefighter 1 / 2
- Apparatus Operator (Pumper / Aerial)
- Fire Department Instructor 1
- Fire Officer 1 / 2
- Technician Rescue (Awareness / Operations / Technician)
Moreover, the division is pivotal in crafting training programs for external agencies, collaborating with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Hamilton County LEPC, Boy Scouts of America, and other local organizations to offer fire safety, medical, and emergency preparedness training. These partnerships underline the division's commitment to community safety and continuous exploration of new opportunities to serve the city's needs.
