Station 9 opened in June 2014, replacing the old Station 9 on 6th Avenue built in 1927. It is a single-company, two-bay fire hall housing Engine 9, serving the southern-central part of Chattanooga. Located in East Lake, an older historic area, the station has close ties to the community.
