Arbor Day and Tree City USA
Chattanooga has held an Arbor Day event every year since 1990, and has been certified as Tree City USA for 34 years running. See where each event has taken place here
Take Root
In coordination with Parks & Outdoors and external partners, Urban Forestry is helping to administer a $6 million tree planting and community engagement grant, over four years. This grant initiative is organized under the Take Root title, which was also the name of 2008-2012 planting initiative. See the Take Root home page here
Urban Forestry Plan
Working with guidance from a Steering Committee, assistance from RPA and the Chattanooga Design studio and with support from the Lyndhurst Foundation, Urban Forestry Staff are working towards an Urban Forestry Plan. See elements of the plan here
