The City of Chattanooga provides curbside recycling collections to households and businesses biweekly.

Guidelines
Before the Collection
The container must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. to ensure service
Do not place recyclables on the ground or on top of the container
The lid must be completely closed
Do not overfill the container
Collection crews will not pick up spills or litter from overfilled containers
Do not bag recyclables
Please break down cardboard boxes
All recyclable material must be clean of all food debris before being placed into your recycle container

- Paper
- Flattened cardboard (clean & empty)
- Paper containers and cups (clean & empty)
- Newspapers/inserts, phone books, magazines, junk mail and office paper
- Plastic
- Plastic bottles with necks only (no clamshell)
- Cups and containers (clean & empty)
- Plastic containers number 1 - 7
- Plastic containers number 1 - 7
- Metal
- Steel and aluminum bottles/cans (clean & empty)
- NO aerosol cans
- NO aerosol cans
Non-acceptable Materials
- Glass is not accepted inside your recycle container
- Brown, green, and clear glass can be taken to one of the throughout the city
- Wood debris/tree limbs are not accepted inside your recycle container
- Wood debris/tree limbs can be taken to our Wood Recycle Center
