Chattanooga, Tenn. (January 7, 2024) - Today, the Chattanooga City Council voted unanimously to re-name the Chattanooga Hamilton County Family Justice Center the “Dr. Carol B. Berz Family Justice Center.”
Councilwoman Carol Berz, who passed away in December, was the driving force behind the creation and support of the Family Justice Center as an advocate and elected official.
“There would be no Family Justice Center without Carol Berz, and I want to thank City Council for appropriately honoring Carol’s memory by naming the Center after her,” said Mayor Tim Kelly.
The Center serves residents of Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga by co-locating services to: address intimate partner and family violence, address abuse of older adults through elder justice services, and address human trafficking.
