Firefighters Do Military Extrication Training

Senior Firefighter Hank Parker (Squad 7 Green Shift) and Firefighter Joshua Smelser (Squad 7 Green Shift) are using their technical rescue skills in Chattanooga and beyond! Staff Sergeant Parker and Staff Sergeant Smelser are with the 134th Civil Engineering Squadron out of McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base. The 134th is known for its great work across the globe. 134th firefighters recently trained on vehicle extrication with Marine firefighters at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay during a deployment at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. For two weeks, they completed essential training, as well as multiple building and construction projects at local military facilities. Next, Chattanooga Senior Firefighter Hank Parker, a Cleveland firefighter, and an Alcoa firefighter who are all in the 134th will be traveling to train Bulgarian military firefighters.
