Firefighters Stop Trailer Fire From Destroying Local Business

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to 1301 Hickory Valley Road with four fire companies. Battalion Chief Jeff Eldridge said the trailer was full of combustible materials and a lot of it was on fire. While some firefighters worked to pull out the burning materials from the rear of the trailer, other firefighters used a K-12 power saw to cut the side of the trailer open to allow better access to the smoldering materials. At the time of this release, the firefighters were still on the scene. No injuries were reported.

Battalion Chief Rick Boatwright said the dollar loss was estimated at $10,000 for the trailer and $5,000 for the exterior of the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
