House Fire On Lee Hwy

Upon arrival, Captain Terri Roshell of Quint 8 reported "light smoke showing from a third floor apartment". Upon further investigation, it was determined that the fire had started on a third floor balcony of the apartment.

Firefighters utilized an 1 3/4" hose line to quickly extinguish the fire. Upon investigation, it was determined that a third floor resident has been smoking on his balcony and extinguished the cigarette in a bucket on the deck.

The fire was contained to the third floor balcony, however, there was fire control damage in the form of water which caused water damage to the two apartments below the origin of the fire. Damages were estimated at $40,000. There were no injuries reported.

The Chattanooga Fire was assisted on scene by the Chattanooga Police Department and the Hamilton County EMS.
