The City of Chattanooga’s Department of Economic Development will conduct a public meeting at East Lake Community Center, 3610 Dodds Ave, on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comments on the City’s application for the HUD Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) Grant prior to the submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and solicit input for proposed grant activities.
The PRO Housing Grant is a federal funding opportunity that seeks to empower communities that are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing and seeking to increase housing production and lower housing costs for families over the long term. The City is submitting an application to scale land bank activities and build capacity for permanent and long-term affordable housing solutions in Chattanooga, for a grant period beginning January 31st, 2024, through September 30th, 2029, for an amount up to ten million dollars ($10,000,000.00), with no local match requirement.

Comments may be addressed to Sydney Shivers at the above address or emailed to sshivers@chattanooga.gov at any time during October 10th through 24th. Interested citizens may also offer oral comments at the public meeting on October 17th.
