Keaira Turner Named Director Of Public Affairs At The Chattanooga Police Department

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Chattanooga Police Department is pleased to announce the recent hire of their new Director of Public Affairs, Ms. Keaira Turner.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Ms. Turner brings to the department nearly a decade of experience in strategic communication with a focus on government affairs/communication. In her last role, Ms. Turner served as the Public Relations Manager with the Birmingham Police Department, where she expanded their Public Information Division with new and innovative strategies to improve communication between the police department and the citizens of Birmingham. Ms. Turner obtained her bachelor's and master's in Communication Studies and Integrated Media Communication to help organizations visualize their communication and messaging to their constituents. Under her leadership, Ms. Turner envisions propelling Chattanooga Police Department’s messaging and unlocking the great stories that the current administration is doing to enhance what CPD has to offer to our citizens.

“I look forward to working with CPD and helping carry out Chief Murphy’s vision of bringing fresh light and a set of ideas for creating various strategies on communicating what CPD is doing for the community,” said Ms. Turner.

Ms. Turner joins Sgt. Victor Miller, the department’s Public Information Officer, and Austin Riddle, the department’s social media coordinator. Chief Celeste Murphy’s vision for the unit is to consistently communicate innovative strategies for community safety and the selfless service of the men and women of the department.
