Two Displaced In Afternoon Fire

The grandmother was treated on the scene for minor smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported. Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee were called in to provide assistance to the family.

Captain Williams said the fire started from unattended cooking on the stove, and will be ruled accidental. The dollar loss was estimated at $45,000. Chattanooga police, Hamilton County EMS and EPB also provided assistance on the scene.
