CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Carrollton, Georgia, Police Department is asking for help from Chattanoogans in solving a 14-year-old missing persons case.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – An 18-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal, single-car car crash near the East Ridge Tunnel early this morning.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police responded to a shots fired call in the 2400 block of Glass Street at 8:21 last night. Five minutes later, two individuals showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims’ wounds were serious, the other was non-life threatening. Police found damage to a vehicle in the Glass Street area that may have been the result of the shots fired.
The exact circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Four Chattanooga Police officers are on paid administrative leave after the domestic disorder standoff last weekend on South Kelley Street that resulted in the suspect being shot when he pointed a gun at police. Administrative leave is protocol following an officer involved shooting.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – A 59-year-old woman died after being hit by a car this morning in the 1300 block of Central Avenue.
Gena Brown of Whitwell, Tennessee, was crossing Central Avenue in a crosswalk at 6:30 this morning when she was struck by a black Toyota Corolla heading south on Central Avenue. The Chattanooga Police Traffic Unit responded as did EMS and Brown was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – A shoplifting suspect caused a multi-vehicle crash tonight on I-75 South resulting in a shutdown of the Interstate for three hours.
A CPD officer located a black Nissan Armada suspected in a store theft and initiated a traffic stop on the Interstate near East Brainerd Road just before 6:30 pm. The 28-year-old woman driving the Nissan tried to flee, pulling away, changing lanes, and causing a crash involving five other vehicles.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Southbound I-75 is shut down at East Brainerd Road because of a multi-vehicle accident at Mile Marker 3.4 that happened just before 6:30.
Chattanooga Police traffic investigators are on the scene and there are at least two serious injuries. Traffic is being re-routed onto East Brainerd Road from southbound I-75 until further
notice.

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police are investigating the fight and shooting in the parking lot of the Speedway at 4355 Highway 58 early this morning.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at 4:27 this morning and found a large crowd on the parking lot. Witnesses said there had been a fight and they heard gunshots during the fight. Shortly after officers arrived at the scene, a 37-year-old female and a 16-year-old male showed up at separate hospitals with gunshot wounds, both believed to be non-life threatening.
