CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Chattanooga Police traffic unit responded to a fatal motorcycle crash at 9:26 Friday night at 304 North Cherokee Boulevard.

Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a gray Honda Element was turning left from East Manning Street onto North Cherokee and collided with a black Honda motorcycle. The 42-year-old motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital but died there from his injuries.

The driver of the car remained on scene and cooperated with police. The investigation is continuing.

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for help in identifying a person they’re looking for in connection with several graffiti incidents downtown.

The vandalism has been reported at several businesses in the Market Street, Broad Street, and M-L King Boulevard areas, including the historic Read House Hotel in the last week. CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police have made an arrest in this morning’s shooting at the Amazon Fulfillment Center at 7200 Discovery Drive.

20-year-old D’ante Jones has been taken into custody and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm during a Felony. Jones is charged with the shooting of a 19-year-old man on the Amazon property, approaching the victim and shooting him at close range. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition with life-threatening wounds.

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call at 4:33 this morning at 7200 Discovery Drive.

Arriving at the scene, police found a 19-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators believe this was a targeted incident. Preliminary examination indicates another man approached the victim and shot him at close range, then left the scene on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police found an unresponsive woman who had been stabbed several times when they responded to a call at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Oakwood Drive at 1:12 this morning.

Preliminary investigation indicates the 38-year-old woman was stabbed after an argument with an unknown male at another location, drove away and made it to the apartment complex before passing out and wrecking the vehicle. First responders took her to the hospital and consider her wounds to be life-threatening.

This is a reminder that there will be a simulated active shooter drill on the Campus of Chattanooga State Community College Wednesday, August 9th. This is a planned exercise with Chattanooga State and includes the Chattanooga State Campus Police, the Chattanooga Police Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hamilton County Emergency Office of Emergency Management.
