Neighborhood Action Grant 2023-2024

Update: Applications for the 2023-2024 grant cycle are CLOSED. Winners will be announced in early February 2024. We thank you all for your submissions!

Neighborhood Services is proud to announce that the 2023-2024 Neighborhood Action Grant is now open for submissions! Neighborhood Associations, HOAs, and other registered neighborhood-based organizations within Chattanooga city limits can apply for grants of up to $2,500 to fund projects that strengthen community bonds. The grant application period will remain open for 90 days and close on January 16, 2023, at 4:00 PM.

The Neighborhood Action Grant’s purpose is to empower neighborhood groups and enhance the quality of life for Chattanooga residents. Grant funding can support projects that:

  • Celebrate and document neighborhood history and culture.
  • Connect residents to their neighbors, increase engagement and expand Neighborhood Associations.
  • Beautify and ‘brand’ your neighborhood through projects like sign toppers and banners.

Example project types include: creating media documenting neighborhood history, hosting neighborhood organizing and recruiting events, and installing sign toppers or other aesthetic improvements.

Let's Walk & Talk

Neighborhood Associations and residents within the community have an opportunity to address the concerns within their neighborhoods. During these walks, team members from various internal divisions will be represented so that residents can address concerns with code violations, traffic conflicts, crime, fire, programmatic suggestions, and much more!

Walks will occur on a monthly basis in coordination with the active Neighborhood Associations in all 9 City Council districts, Neighborhood Relations Specialist, and your City Council Representative. This program allows us to walk with you and see what you see first hand to get a clear view of what is impacting your neighborhoods. If your neighbors would like to schedule a Walk, please e-mail neighborhoods@chattanooga.gov

Neighborhood Roundtable

Neighborhood Services has hosted Neighborhood Roundtables for about as long as we've been around. Hosted on a monthly basis, the purpose of the Roundtable is to provide Neighborhood Associations and the general public at-large an opportunity to connect with City administrators and policymakers in order to learn important information and to also give feedback on important City initiatives. During the 2023 season, we have hosted the Code Enforcement division, the Office of Family Empowerment, the Regional Planning Agency and many others. To close our year out, we are hosting a Neighborhood History Roundtable and the public is invited!
