02-21-2013 Cause of Vacant House Fire Suspicious

The firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the bathroom and kitchen area, but the rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported. The dollar loss was estimated at $10,000.

The person renting the house had reportedly moved out just a few days ago, and electrical service to the home had been disconnected. Lt. Henry McElvain with the Fire Investigation Division said the cause of the fire appears to be suspicious in nature. The investigation will continue.
