04-30-2013 Vacant House Fire Under Investigation

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm shortly before 10:00 p.m. and responded to 1101 Arcadia Avenue with several fire companies. Fire was coming out of several windows as the first firefighters arrived on the scene. Captain Chris Fryar with Engine 15 said they were able to get the fire out in about 15 minutes, but the damage was extensive. No injuries were reported. The dollar loss was estimated at $20,000.

Captain Fryar said the no one lived in the house, but neighbors have seen a homeless person visit the house on several occasions. The investigation will continue. Chattanooga police and Hamilton County EMS also provided assistance on the scene.
