04-30-2013 Car Plows Into Business on Rossville Boulevard

When the firefighters from Station 9 arrived on the scene, they could see that a car had plowed right through a block wall before coming to a stop inside the business. Remarkably, the driver and his two passengers were not injured; nor was anyone in the thrift store. Captain Brandon Schroyer with Engine 9 said the driver and passengers were able to get out of the car on their own.

A city building inspector was called to the scene to determine the extent of the damage to the building. Captain Schroyer said the car reportedly struck two other vehicles before crashing into the thrift store. Captain Schroyer said a driver in one of the other vehicles was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The cause of this incident is being investigated by the Chattanooga Police Department.
