10-08-2013 Update: Suspects Arrested in String of Fires

In the days that followed, other small fires were set in vacant houses, a shed and some porches. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Captain Anthony Moore with the Fire Investigation Division said the two male juveniles, ages 12 and 13, were officially charged yesterday. The 12-year-old was charged with one count of arson and 6 counts of setting fire to personal property. The 13-year-old was charged with one count of arson. Captain Moore said both boys also faced a prohibited weapons charge, for making what is commonly known as a Molotov cocktail.

Lt. Henry McElvain also assisted with the investigation. Captain Moore added that Chattanooga police played an instrumental role in apprehending the two suspects.
