11-04-2013 No Injuries in Commercial Fire

Captain Teri Rose with Quint 6 said the fire appeared to have started in some machinery and then spread into an adjacent wall. The insulation in the wall ignited and the flames continued to spread up toward the roof.

Captain Rose said the firefighters had to use metal cutting power saws to cut into the walls and the roof to get to the burning insulation. Because of the difficulty in gaining access to the fire, Captain Rose said it took roughly an hour to completely extinguish the blaze. Most of the building was undamaged by the fire. An estimate on the dollar loss was not available. The cause of the fire is being ruled accidental.
