12-03-2013 Two Injured After Car Hits House

Five companies with the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the scene to find the vehicle on fire sitting against a residence. Firefighters with Engine 15 used a hand line to quickly extinguish the fire. Chief Boatwright said two victims were pulled from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS. No information is available on their condition.

Chief Boatwright said the impact from the car caused substantial damage to the front of the structure. The dollar loss to the structure is estimated at $15,000. A city building inspector was called to the scene to evaluate the structure. It was determined the house was not safe to occupy. The Chattanooga Fire Department was assisted on the scene by EPB, HCEMS, CPD and City Building inspector.
