02-07-14 Cause of Vacant House Fire Under Investigation
Lt. Dale Dodd with Engine 12 said the firefighters forced their way into the boarded up house and quickly extinguished the fire. Lt. Dodd said most of the fire damage was contained to one corner of the house. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire appears to be suspicious in nature. Lt. Andrew Waters with the Fire Investigation Division said the house had been vacant for approximately six months, and electrical service to the structure had been disconnected. Lt. Waters added that there is evidence that a fire had occurred there before. The investigation will continue.
