03-26-14 Fire Guts Vacant House in North Chattanooga

The house was located in the 800 block of Dallas Road.

Battalion Chief Jeff Eldridge said the house was vacant, and was fully engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived on the scene. It was too late to enter the structure, so firefighters set up to fight the fire defensively to keep it from endangering other structures. It took the firefighters roughly 30 minutes to get the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
