09-11-14 Firefighters Fan Out to Fill the Boot for MDA

Mayor Andy Berke and city council members Chris Anderson, Chip Henderson and Larry Grohn were there to show their support by dropping some cash in a fire boot. For the next three days, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Chattanooga firefighters will be out on the streets (weather permitting), collecting donations in fire boots for MDA. This ambitious fundraiser marks a 60 year partnership between firefighters and MDA, but it's the first time Chattanooga firefighters have taken posts on the streets to collect donations. This event is being coordinated by the fire department, the Chattanooga Fire Firefighters Association – Local 820, and the local chapter of MDA.
