04-13-16 Overnight House Fire Under Investigation

Upon arrival, firefighters with Engine 15 observed that a small fire at the rear of the home had been extinguished by the residents. The back door was blackened by the fire, but there was no damage inside the house and no one was injured.

Captain Henry McElvain with the Fire Investigation Division said there was evidence on the scene that several incendiary devices had been thrown at the house. A resident of the home told Captain McElvain that she has had several "run-ins" with local gang members in the area. Police are investigating potential for gang ties. At this time,it is not confirmed that it was gang involved or motivated.
