06-28-16 Firefighters Respond to Garage Fire

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm shortly before midnight and responded to 2800 Curtis Street with four fire companies. Lt. Chadd Nichols with Engine 4, the incident commander, said a garage was fully engulfed in flames. Lt. Nichols said the firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire and protect nearby structures. They had the fire out in about 15 minutes.

Lt. Nichols said the structure was a 15 by 30-foot storage building used to house tools and construction equipment. The dollar loss was estimated at $30,000 to $40,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
