9-17-19 Dorris Street fire under investigation
Firefighters tried to make entry to conduct a search, but they were not able to due to the strength of the fire.
It took approximately 40 minutes to get the blaze under control and crews dealt with hot spots for several hours.
A second alarm was called due to the possibility of entrapment, but it was later cancelled.
The Chattanooga Police Department, EPB and Hamilton County EMS provided assistance on the scene.
The vacant home is a total loss.
Once the flames were extinguished, a thorough search was conducted and no one was found inside the home.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
No firefighters were injured.
Station 1 responded, along with Quint 14, Engine 9 and Squad 20.
