9-18-19 Car crashes into hotel on Lee Highway

Thankfully, both rooms were empty at the time of the incident.

A total of 12 surrounding rooms were evacuated as a precaution.

Three people inside the vehicles involved in the car accident were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

CARTA is providing a bus to keep impacted guests cool as crews work the scene.

The Red Cross has been notified, along with building inspectors.

Chattanooga/Hamilton County Rescue is providing cold drinks and food for first responders.

The gold van and SUV were eventually removed from the scene at InTown Suites once crews had the structure reinforced.

Again, the gold van was involved in a crash on Lee Highway around 3 PM that resulted in it hitting the parked SUV and the van then went into two hotel rooms.

CFD crews stabilized the exterior structure of the rooms, just as they did on the interior to make things as safe as possible.

Structural engineers from the city will come out to examine the building.

Twelve rooms remained closed for the time being as a precaution.
