11-27-19 CFD assists with vehicle extrication

CFD assisted Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department with rescue efforts Wednesday afternoon at the scene of a two-car crash with entrapment and a fire on Lee Highway in the area of Edgemon Road.

A large garbage truck and small Volkswagen collided and the trash truck caught on fire.

The driver of the VW was trapped in the wreckage so firefighters helped get him out. He was airlifted to Erlanger.

The driver of the garbage truck suffered minor injuries.

CFD Squad 7 and Battalion 2 helped with the extrication and mutual aid response to the accident.
