06-06-2012 Firefighters from Around Region Attend Special Ladder Truck Class

Shane Darwick, battalion chief with the Montgomery County, MD fire department, is one of two instructors. "We're teaching best practices for truck company operations," said Darwick. Chief Darwick said the firefighters are brushing up their skills in how to quickly set up ladder trucks on fire scenes, and how to effect rescue operations once the ladders are in place. The other instructor is Lt. Jarod Blake with the New York Fire Department.

In addition to the Chattanooga Fire Department, participating firefighters have come from fire departments in Almaville, Cleveland, Jefferson City, Nashville, Oak Ridge and Red Bank.
