11-28-16 UPDATE/11-25-16 Shooting 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd


11/28/16 UPDATE:

A juvenile was arrested and charged in this incident on Monday, November 28, 2016. Due to the juvenile status no further information will be provided.

Charges:
2 counts attempted murder

Reckless endangerment

 

11/25/16 ORIGINAL RELEASE:

The following information was obtained through preliminary investigations:

  • CPD officers located 2 male subjects each suffering from a single gun shot wound
  • Both parties were transported to a local hospital via ambulance
  • Both parties injuries are considered non-life-threatening
  • The shootings took place in the parking lot by the Sears end of Hamilton Place Mall
  • Investigators interviewed witnesses and are following credible and consistent leads
  • Potential suspects detained were released due to review of video provided by mall management and extensive interviews
  • Through interviews and video tape review investigators have determined there was a single shooter
  • Investigators have determined incident is gang motivated
  • Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau continues to actively investigate this incident.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
