11-26-16 Traffic Crash/Fatality 1200 E 37th St

Dustin Jeffrey Allen (male, 29, serious injury)

Passenger:

Jamie L. Griffin (female, 21, deceased)

11-26-16 ORIGINAL RELEASE:

Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to a vehicle crash at 1200 E 37th St. The following are the preliminary facts of that investigation:

• A Honda Civic lost control in a curve, running off the road and hitting a utility pole head on
• The vehicle came off the utility pole and came to rest in the intersection
• Driver and passenger in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital
• The driver has serious injuries that are life threatening
• The passenger was pronounced deceased at the hospital
• The call came in at 3:34 p.m.
• Names will not be released at this time pending the conclusion of the investigation
• Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating this crash
