11-30-16 UPDATE/11-29-16 Traffic Crash - 2400 Harrison Pike


​UPDATE:

​Driver, Vehicle 1:

Jeremy Mason, 33 years old (refused medical evaluation on scene)

Passenger, Vehicle 1:
Juvenile, name withheld (life threatening injuries)

Driver, Vehicle 2:

Michael Cook, 38 years old (not injured)

 

ORIGINAL RELEASE:

Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to a two vehicle crash in the 2400 block of Harrsion Pike. The following was determined through interview, observation and investigation:

  • Driver of a Ford Escape (Vehicle 2) was traveling east on Harrison Pike
  • Vehicle 2 driver told investigators a Mazda 3 (Vehicle 1) was heading west bound
  • Driver of Vehicle 1 lost control and traveled into the lane Vehicle 2 was traveling in
  • Driver of Vehicle 2 was unable to avoid Vehicle 1, striking the right rear of Vehicle 1
  • Vehicle 1 spun off and came to rest off the roadway on the east bound side
  • Driver of Vehicle 2 suffered no injuries
  • Driver of Vehicle 1 refused medical evaluation at the scene
  • Passenger in Vehicle 1 was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries
  • Names will not be released at this time pending the conclusion of the investigation
  • Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating this crash

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
