12-2-16 Shooting - 700 block North Germantown Rd

Officers with the Chattanooga Police Department were called to a local hospital at 12:32 a.m. on December 2, 2016 after a man showed up with a gunshot wound. The following information was obtained through preliminary investigations:

• One victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the elbow
• Victim told investigators he was shot when pulling into parking lot at Park Village Apts. in the 700 block of North Germantown Rd
• Victim's injury is considered non-life-threatening
• Suspect description as provided by victim: black male wearing a dark hoodie; no other details provided
• Victim was found to have an active warrant for theft
• Victim was transported to Hamilton County Jail
• Nothing of evidentiary value was found at the scene by investigators
• Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau continues to actively investigate this incident.

Eugene Gaines, 45
