12-14-16 Fatal Stabbing 2500 block 6th Ave Ct.

The Chattanooga Police Department responded to the 2500 Block of 6th Ave Court on a person stabbed just after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. The follow are the preliminary facts of that investigation:

• When police arrived on scene they located the victim who was suffering from a apparent stab wound
• The victim had succumbed to his injuries before police arrival
• Witnesses are cooperating with police
• A person of interest has been located and detained by police
• The Crime Scene Unit responded and gathered evidence on scene
• Members of the Violent Crimes Division are actively investigating this incident
