12-30-16 UPDATE: 3 Arrests Made 12-26-16 Disturbance - Hamilton Place Mall


 UPDATE 12/30/16:

Chattanooga Police have arrested and charged three suspects in regards to the fireworks/theft incident that took place at the Hamilton Place Mall on Monday, December 26, 2016.

Diamond Jones, Darrisha Landmon and Garrian King are all facing numerous charges.

CPD's Intelligence Unit conducted the investigation and determined that five suspects were involved in the incident and worked together to commit felonious thef in the Pink store at Hamilton Place Mall.

Four of the suspects have been identified, three are in custody, one has warrants placed on file. The suspects and their charges are as follows:

Diamond Jones (female, 20) - theft of property, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, aggravated criminal trespass

Darrisha Landmon (female, 25) - theft of property, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct

Garrian King (male, 22) - theft of property, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, drugs for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of weapon, possessing firearm with intent to go armed, theft of property

ORIGINAL RELEASE:

At 4:45 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2016 Chattanooga Police officers responded quickly to reports of shots fired at the Hamilton Place Mall. Our investigation concluded that it was perpetrated a group of individuals who were setting off fireworks, possibly to cover-up the actions of a shoplifting crime. We have had reports of injuries due to their negligence. Several people were pushed down in the rush of the crowd to leave the area and HCEMS responded to treat these minor injuries. Chattanooga Police have descriptions of the suspects involved and will be following up on all potential leads as well as video footage to locate and hold them accountable for their actions.

Officers will remain in the area for an extended period of time to maintain the safety and security of the Hamilton Place Mall complex.
