1-14-17 Suspicious Package - 150 River St.

On January 14, 2017 at 4:04 PM the Chattanooga Police Department received a call about a suspicious package at 150 River Street. The Chattanooga Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene. The following are the releasable details of that incident:

Available Details:

• A suspicious package was reported on the Walnut Street Bridge on River Street
• CPD Bomb Squad Technicians cleared a portion of the immediate area of Coolidge Park and treated the package as a threat until it could be confirmed otherwise
• The North end of the Walnut Street Bridge was closed off as a precaution
• CPD Bomb Squad Technicians rendered the package safe

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
