1-22-17 Shooting - 2000 block of Duncan Ave


On Sunday, January 22, 2017 at approximately 10:50 a.m. officers with the Chattanooga Police Department responded to 2700 block of 6th Ave Court on a person shot. The following are the preliminary facts of that investigation:

  • Upon arrival, Chattanooga Police found Dieshunn Lindsey suffering from a non-life-threatening gun shot wound
  • HCEMS responded to the scene to transport Mr. Lindsey to a local hospital for further treatment
  • The investigation determined the actual crime scene to be at the 2000 block of Duncan Ave
  • The shooting appears to have resulted during a disorder between Mr. Lindsey and Latesha Hinton, both of whom were available to speak with investigators
  • Preliminary facts suggest that Mr. Lindsey attempted to assault Ms. Hinton and others immediately before the shooting
  • Investigators were able to determine that Ms Hinton reasonably feared for herself and the others nearby and shot Mr Lindsey in self defense
  • Mr. Lindsey was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants

Suspect:

Dieshunn Lindsey

DOB: 5/14/86

Charges: 

Domestic Assault, Theft of Property, Aggravated Assault (Domestic), Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism/Malicious Mischief

Victim:

Latesha Hinton (female, 29)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
