1-22-17 Shooting - 1800 block South Lyerly St.


At 5:11 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital concerning a person who had been shot. The following are the preliminary facts of that investigation:

  • The victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound which was non-life-threatening
  • The victim did not identify the suspect or how he had arrived at the hospital to investigators
  • Police were able to determine that the incident took place at the 1800 block of South Lyerly Street
  • Members of the Crime Scene Unit are processing evidence from the scene
  • Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are following all actionable leads
  • Anyone who has information on this shooting is urged to call police. You can remain anonymous.

Kendric Evans (male, 20)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
