UPDATED 4-4-17: 3-30-17 Person Shot - 3500 block Clio Ave.


 

CPD will not be releasing the suspect's name due to his juvenile status. However, this suspect is the same individual who was arrested for the attempted murder and aggravated assault of David Green on March 31, 2017 in the 600 block of West 38th Street.

Investigators with CPD's Violent Crimes Bureau have worked tirelessly to arrest the person responsible for these brazen, calculated attacks. CPD along with our federal partners are working relentlessly not only to prevent violent crime, but to hold accountable those who commit these crimes.

Original Release - March 30, 2017

Two people are shot while in a vehicle on Clio Avenue. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

At 1:26 a.m. the Chattanooga Police Department was called to respond to a person shot in the ​35​00 block of ​Clio​ Avenue.

The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

  • ​Two victims were found at the scene
  • ​Male victim found near a vehicle
  • He was transported by Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital​
  • ​Injury suffered by male victim is considered non-life-threatening
  • ​Female victim found deceased inside the vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound
  • No suspect information available
  • Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are following all actionable leads

Victims:

Cody Nunley (male, 20)

Female, 16 - name withheld due to juvenile status

 

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
